You were our earthly light and solid rock, loved your family with passion, cared for many desperate ones, tolerated those who hurt you and your family, and uneasy when things were going wrong. WE MISS YOU VERY MUCH. You were a peacemaker, but peace did not give you a chance. Twenty years ago today 9/7/1993, you were on a mission in Cambodia under the banner of the UN peacekeeping force, and at approximately 8:30am eastern time, quick sand swallowed you without notice. A thought of this day will never quit our minds. Memories of you linger around us every blessed day, it’s like we are still expecting your return from this mission. These memories keep reminding me of the many things I learned from you, things we discussed and did, the travels we made, the unconditional love you had for me and your four girls, and how you promised to give them what you never had. Things were hard, and are still hard but Our God that we serve fervently granted us favor. Your little girls have grown, some married and you now have two wonderful grandchildren. They sobbed while walking down the aisles without you but I knew you were watching from your heavenly father’s side with a smile and happy for them. Whatever happened on this faithful day in Cambodia, our Creator knows best and we will continue to pray that he keeps you in a better place until we shall meet to part no more. May your soul rest in perfect peace… “mon Captaine” Your lovely wife Jackie
