Commander Ndi Cho Abrams was his last title. His heart was too soft for a soldier yet he was!

I've seldom spoken about Captain Ndi because it hurts and thoughts of all the love that he was makes me cry cry cry. I can talk about Captain Ndi cho without crying. He had this thing about him that he will make a little boy feel like a man Just as Mr Jones puts it! People who never met him will never really understand what a loss Baforchu and Cameroon has suffered. As loving and soft as he was, he was a real soldier! Not the joking sought me have in our Country today! A man of steel who commanded respect wherever goes as he was equally respectful. They're no two of a kind of the caliber late Captain Ndi Abrams.Captain Ndi and his crew had just landed the first chopper in Mbu and walked out straight to visit my father in Tingoh. My father was so moved by Captain Ndi's adventure, landing a chopper in Baforchu that he declared "a motor vehicle will one day navigate the hills to reach his yard in Tingoh.. and it finally happened indeed!! Back then i was a little boy and my father's hand back. Captain had called on me Sunday! Korh and then handed me his basket of gifts to carry and escort him to the chopper. What a star i was? walking side by side with the Captain in his complete Air-force uniform!! While I was studying in Maiduguri,Borno state, captain Ndi's home in Garoua was my holiday destination. Captain was so caring that he won't let me stay at home while he was at work. His office was a walk from the house and he'll regularly make me join him at the office after breakfast. At his office at the camp, he was adored and respected like a church minister and not as a soldier. That's how much he was loved by his colleagues. There's so much love to share about captain Ndi but I'll go on writing for days. To be candid, Baforchu would have been a different and far better place today if Ni Abram was still alive.. The best way to describe him is the way Ma Lizzy Kwende puts it.. Everyone's brother, father, husband, lover........ For those who do not know, I will like to address him as Air-force Commander Ndi Cho Abrams. The title bestow to him at his burial. While we remember captain Ndi, there's one person that touched my heart to this day in Captain's house who played a part in bringing the best out of him as we all saw.His wife Ma Jackie! There isn't much i can say about her... what a complete wife for the captain.. Always jolly.. the house was never too small or full for the next person coming in, never concerned with where Captain was or when he was coming back. Only always happy to see him back home whenever, with a welcoming smile..!! The kind of wife and a relationship i yearn for... Every time Captain walks into the house, his first question was "Bei Ndorm way waye"? Little Bei was his everything!!. I've never known a kid at 3-4 yrs to be that fluent in Baforchu language, then French and English but had never been to baforchu then... All the kids were fluent in Baforchu more than the kids in the Village itself. The lasting memory I have for Commander Ndi Cho was the statement his ever loving wife Ma Jackie made at his burial that has been a personal challenge in my love life and a challenge i'm now dishing out to you lovers, husbands and wifes! This was her testimony!! "I HAVE BEEN MARRIED TO NI NI FOR 15YRS AND WE'VE NOT QUARRELED ONCE FOR THOSE FIFTEEN YEARS"" How many people can proudly say this of their partner even for a laugh?? Since that day to this day i have never read or heard any man or woman utter those words about their partner. I've been trying all my life to have a woman say this about me or vice versa to no avail..it's rather been the direct opposite!! What a lover! a husbad! a father and a person he was!! That's the only kind of marriage i want for my friends and family! That's the kind of a relationship and a marriage that i want for myself! Maybe that's why I'm still hanging around!! OR Maybe I can't let go thoughts of Commander Ndi Cho Abrams.. Whatever is of him that he left behind, will forever be blessed because he was a blessing to everyone who has met him!!... RIP my big brother and my honorable Commander Ndi Cho Abrams! My dear brother Ndi Cho. It's been 20yrs and tears still stream down my face because i didn't have a chance to say bye when you were going to Cambodia! However, I learned so much from you and i will try my very best to emulate your character for it's true love and the best way to live with family and in harmony with our neighbors. Akwen,I just wish to give you and your sisters a big thank you for putting this together for everyone to re-live a rare experience with your Daddy. We are proud of you all indeed! Loving thoughts of you all always.. You've all remained special just as you were to him back then...Stay blessed always!! Uncle Sunny Malex
